Getting to Nantes

By Air

Nantes Atlantique Airport (NTE) is the main international gateway to the city, located just 10 km (6 miles) southwest of the city center. The airport offers direct flights to and from many major European cities including Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid, London, and Lisbon, as well as seasonal intercontinental connections.

Getting from the airport to the city:

  • Airport Shuttle Bus: TAN Airport Shuttle Line 38 connects the airport to Nantes city center in about 20–30 minutes.
  • Taxi: Approx. €25–€35 to central Nantes.
  • Car rental and ride-hailing services are also available.

If arriving from outside Europe, you may need to connect through a major European hub such as Paris (CDG/ORY), Amsterdam (AMS), or Frankfurt (FRA).

By Train

Nantes is well-connected by high-speed rail (TGV) to cities across France and Europe.

From Paris:
High-speed TGV trains run frequently from Paris Montparnasse station to Nantes in about 2 hours.

From Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG):
A direct TGV train from CDG Terminal 2 to Nantes takes around 3 hours, available several times per day.

From other French cities:
Direct trains from Lyon, Bordeaux, Lille, and other major hubs.

Train station:
Nantes Gare SNCF is directly adjacent to La Cité Congress Centre, making train travel especially convenient.

Local Transportation

Nantes has an efficient and user-friendly public transport system (TAN), including trams, buses, and Navibus ferries. A variety of passes and mobile ticketing options are available.
