Visa & Entry Information

InterPore2023 welcomes attendees from all around the world – and looks forward to seeing you in Edinburgh next May!

Do I need a visa to go to Scotland?

IF YOU ARE AN EU CITIZEN:
If you are from any EU or EEA country, or Switzerland, you do not need a visa, but you may be limited to a visit of up to three months.

IF YOU ARE FROM OUTSIDE THE EU:
Visit https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa to see if you need a visa and, if so, how to apply.

If you need a visa, note that the application process can be lengthy and it is strongly recommended that you start a few months prior to the conference if possible. If needed, you can obtain a visa letter from InterPore provided that your abstract is already accepted and you have completed registration for the meeting.

COVID-19 Information

If you’re visiting Scotland from another country, normal travel rules apply. This means that you do not need to complete a Passenger Locator Form, take any COVID-19 tests or self-isolate after you arrive.

When returning home or travelling to other countries outside Scotland, you should check your own government’s travel advice for further help. Even though Scotland does not have COVID-19 travel rules, other countries may.

Future changes to travel advice
New COVID-19 travel rules in Scotland may be brought in at short notice. You should always check the latest advice before booking your trip and before you go.

COVID-19 rules when you’re in Scotland
There are currently no COVID-19 rules that you need to follow while visiting Scotland. Please remain informed prior to your trip, as regulations are subject to change.
