Special Focus on Water

When considering the topic of water and porous media, groundwater and hydrogeology come to mind first. We want to look at water in a broader context at this conference, covering topics like water supply, desalination, purification, biochars, sanitation, filtration, evaporation, constructed wetlands, biofilters, wastewater treatment, drip irrigation, hydroponics, permeable pavements, water-resistant outdoor gear, and any other natural or man-made situations where water interacts with porous materials.

Groundwater Under Changing Climate: How Far Can the Rubber Band Stretch?

This presentation promises to offer valuable insights into the complexities of groundwater systems in the context of climate change.

Instead of a traditional panel discussion, we will be engaging attendees with interactive polls on the topic, as well as other unconventional water usage issues. The discussion will be led by Thushara Gunda, who will guide the conversation after Fred's thought-provoking presentation.

This will be a unique and engaging opportunity to explore some of the most pressing challenges in water science today!
