1. Contributions will be reviewed by a review committee, according to the following criteria:
- Quality of image: Are all of the relevant features of the image easily recognizable?
- Are the resolution and coloring of the image sufficiently high?
- Topicality of image: Is the scientific topic of the image innovative/relevant?
- Quality of text: Does the text sufficiently motivate interest in the image?
- Is the text concise while providing a complete description of the image and its relevance?
2. Image files can consist of multiple, merged images, in, for example, a panel, but only one image file should be submitted. Images can be submitted in jpeg, tiff, png, or pdf formats. Images should be as highly resolved as possible, but no less than 600 dpi. The image size cannot exceed 25 MB.
3. The accompanying text should not exceed 1,000 characters without counting spaces. The accompanying text should include descriptions of (a) the scientific phenomena captured in the image, (b) the advance in scientific understanding revealed by the image, and (c) the methods used to capture the image.
4. Equations should be typed in Latex format. There are several free of charge online resources that can assist you typing equations in Latex format.
5. Citations are not counted toward the 1,000 characters limits. Citations should be listed following bitex format or by indicating their doi.
6. During submission one or more tracks should be selected to indicate the topics most relevant to the image.
