InterPore2019 has an exciting and varied program

There are a number of events in addition to the very strong scientific program. Here is a short overview:

Opening ceremony: The conference will be opened by the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Transfer of the Universitat Politècnica de València, José E. Capilla Romá, at 13:00 on Monday.

Annual meeting of the Society and Award Ceremony: Monday evening at 17:50, prior to the reception dinner, we will have the annual InterPore meeting in the Auditorium. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Executive Committee will give a short overview of the state of InterPore. You can learn about our activities and how you can take part. The winners of InterPore awards will also be honoured during the meeting. There will be short speeches by awardees, who will receive their certificates. Open to all participants and accompanying persons.

Reception dinner will be held on Monday evening in the Exhibition Hall at 19:00, immediately following the annual meeting and award ceremony. Join us for an evening of food and fellowship as we enjoy a lovely sampling of Spanish cuisine. A broad variety of tapas and paellas will be served along with beer and wine. Open to all participants and accompanying persons.

Evening Concert: In the evening of Tuesday, May 7th at 20:00, a concert by the Acanthus Choir will be given at Iglesía de la Compañía, located in the old quarters of the city and home to one of the largest pipe organs in Spain. The choir will perform pieces from a variety of musical styles. Open to all participants and accompanying persons.

SAC Career Event: On Wednesday, May 8th, at11:20, students will be able to hear from and ask questions of established professionals who have followed very different career paths after their graduate degrees. It is an opportunity to learn about the important choices they made and the inspirations and motivations behind them. Open to all participants.

Interpore 5K run: On Wednesday, May 8th at 20:00, a non-competitive run will take place in the Old Riverbed Park. Lace up your jogging shoes and join the fun, or cheer on your fellow participants from the side lines. Open to all participants and accompanying persons; registration for runners is required.

SAC event: Night out in Valencia: In the evening of Wednesday, May 8th, immediately following the InterPore 5K, join fellow students at the Bear Club (21:00), located near the finish line, for drinks and conversation. Open to all participants; no free drinks; there is a cash bar.

SAC event: The Climate Challenge: On Thursday afternoon from 17:00 – 19:00 join the Student Activities Committee for an interactive game involving a complicated problem. This will be a fun and challenging event with limited capacity; registration is required for this event.

P&G Student Poster Award and Closing ceremony: Before the close of conference at noon on Friday, the two winners of P&G Student Poster Award will be announced, and they will receive their certificate. Also, we will announce where InterPore2020 will be held.
